Mérula 5 L is an extra virgin olive oil produced by Marqués de Valduezaon their estate located in Extremadura, near Mérida. The Valdueza family has a long-standing connection to the land and oversees the entire process, from cultivating their own olive trees to the production and storage of the oil.
This EVOO is obtained through a blend of different olive varieties, seeking to combine their distinct qualities into a harmonious and versatile oil. Processing the fruit on the estate itself allows for quick handling after harvest, a fundamental aspect in preserving its freshness and aromatic characteristics.
Mérula presents a pleasant fruitiness that combines hints of fresh olives and grass with fruity and vegetal notes. On the palate, it has good structure while maintaining an accessible character, with bitterness and pungency that are present yet balanced. The result is an oil with personality without being overly intense.
